Thunder Rolls

It was a dark mysterious night.  As she walked down the cold alley.  the lightning flashed behind her nipping at her heels and the thunder shook her angrily.  She ran faster to escape the rain and the fearful night.

Her hands on the golden door knob, she heard a noise behind her.  As she turned, the only thing she saw was the dim ring of light from the street lamp in which she was standing.  She tried to peer through the rain coming down in sheets.  Her hair wet and hands trembling, she stepped away from the door.  Who is out there, or what?  She asked herself.

The fear building in her chest, she walked towards the noise.  Stepping out of the safe ring of light into the dark hell that surrounded it.  Who knows what was waiting for her there.

Sudden silence.  Then the lightening cracked the sky, lighting her way.  A dark figure stand before her suddenly.  Only a set of staring eyes let her know where he stood.  Is this the end, she thought, is this what it is like?  "No," rumbled a deep voice, which she thought for a moment was only the thunder.

Who was this mysterious man standing before her?  What did he want from her?  Where did he come from?  Why did he cause her to step from the security of the light and the inviting warmth of her home?

To be continued..........
